Lizeth, Personal Finance Coach

My story began in a small rented room in Cali, Colombia where my mom, dad, and I lived during the first few years of my life. Eventually, my parents separated; my mom and I struggled financially during our time in Colombia to make ends meet and for many years after immigrating to US in 2001.

When I graduated from college I felt like I had made it! But a few months after graduation our church was doing Financial Peace University, this was my first money class and it changed my life. I realized that despite being the valedictorian of my high school, graduating with honors from engineering school, and working a corporate job - I was $13k in debt and broke.

In true immigrant fashion after this realization, I got to work and today I have no consumer debt, I am more than halfway to paying off the house and working on building the retirement portfolio.

My journey inspired me to mentor and coach young Latinas on money because I don't want my friends and mentees to end up broke. This is how Latinas and Money was born because there is a huge need in our community for us to talk about money. Winning with money often requires that we go against the grain, it can be a long and stressful road and I would be honored to support you in your journey to wealth with the knowledge and experience I have gathered over the last ten years as a student of personal finance.

I am not a financial advisor or accountant. Therefore, I cannot provide investment or tax advice.
